On Tuesday afternoon (10/9), BPS of West Manggarai Regency held a BAJO (Bacarita Angka Jelajah Opini) seminar for the 2024 National Statistics Day (HSN) Series Edition, with the topic Data Science for Future Official Statistics. The speakers who attended this event were Professor of the STIS Statistics Polytechnic, Prof. Setia Pramana, S.Si, M.Sc, Ph.D.
and Head of General Affairs of BPS NTT, Ir. Adi Hendrik Manafe, M.Si who was also present as a keynote speaker.
In his opening remarks, the head of BPS of West Manggarai Regency, Ikhe Suryaningrum, S.Pi, MAB. said that BPS as a data producing agency must follow the modernization of the national statistics system, to become a future official statistics posture that revolutionizes and transforms the statistical business process so that it can produce more efficient statistical data.
Next, before heading to the main presentation, Mr. Adi delivered his presentation entitled 'Peeking into the future of BPS through Data Science'.
Then continued with a presentation from Prof. Setia entitled 'Data Science and the Future of Official Statistics'
The seminar meeting was then continued with a question and answer session led by Dyonisius H S Jewaru SST., M.Ec.Dev. as the moderator.
